The conference brings together writers, translators, and publishers to discuss works from East Asian, Southeast Asian, African, and American diasporas. It is also an annual opportunity to take pulse of the publishing industry and which narratives are being brought to light. The conference also holds many panels each day for authors to share how their identities shape their work as well as how their work uplifts the communities they are part of. I am especially interested in upcoming presentations on illness narratives, medical history, and intergenerational mental health discussions.
